Beyond the Welcome Sequence

Most businesses set up a welcome email and call it automation. Real email marketing automation means building behavior-triggered flows that nurture leads through every stage of the buyer journey, from awareness to advocacy.

The Five Essential Flows

Every business needs these automated sequences: welcome series, abandoned cart or intent recovery, post-purchase onboarding, re-engagement for inactive subscribers, and referral or review requests. Each flow should have at least three to five emails with progressive messaging.

Segmentation That Matters

Segment by behavior, not just demographics. What pages did they visit? What did they download? How often do they open emails? Behavioral segmentation drives two to three times higher engagement than demographic-only approaches.

Deliverability Is Everything

The best copy in the world means nothing if it lands in spam. Authenticate your domain with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC. Clean your list regularly. Monitor sender reputation and warm up new sending domains gradually.
